Canadian comedy is not funny. Why? Because it's fucking cheesy, that's why. I think perhaps Canadian comedy is only funny to those under the age of 10, and over the age of 55. Take Air Farce for example - does anyone actually laugh at those lame-ass jokes?
And Henrik, being the masochist that he is (it's one of the reasons I love him), has a tendency to linger on TV shows that he can't stand. I think he keeps hoping that, one day, he'll stumble upon some actual comedy.
Does anyone actually like Canadian comedy? If so, why? Please explain it to me...

i agree in the fact that air force sucks. it goes something like this:
"blah blah blah [canadian politician] blah blah blah [current canadian news item] blah blah blah [random nod to an even more random canadian city]"
this hour has 22 minutes is pretty bad too, but i have occasionally watched the rick mercer report and i find that relatively funny.
i used to love canadian humour back when i was a kid, mainly because the only canadian humour i knew about was tom green, and he was my hero. looking back on it, i don't know why....i guess cause he was vulgar, and famous because of it.
BUT! if there is one reason why canadian humour is awesome, it's because we can swear! watching american tv is so infuriating when the best punch lines are censored because they say the word "slut" or "penis" or something ridiculous. i love turning on the tv at 930 and getting to hear a bunch of "fuck"s and all sorts of other vulgar words and scenarios.
basically, canadian humour rocks because it can be whatever it wants to be, unlike the very structured, very restricted american programs.
also, if we had a larger population, we'd probably have some great comedians. look at the notorious canadian comics, such as jim carrey and mike myers. they were probably the biggest comedians of the '90s, next to seinfeld!

Yes, I totally agree, and ask me one day to tell you my Tom Green stories. I know a bunch of people who knew him when he lived in Ottawa and was still a cable-access dude. I even know a guy who was in the rap group.
I totally agree, Rick Mercer is cool, and I'll even admit that I've laughed at some of the jokes on Corner Gas. But other than a few bright lights, the Canadian comedy scene is as murky as a Florida swamp, and on top of that, it's very Eastern, know what I mean?
